PCB Design Pricing

Quick answer

At Circuit Board Design, PCB design starts from $1,000 for a simple 2-layer board. Multi-layer, HDI, RF, high-speed and rigid-flex designs cost more. Every layout includes a DFM review and full manufacturing files, and every quote comes with a firm timeline. Quotes are free: we reply within 24 hours.

What drives the price

Layer count and board size

A simple 2-layer board starts from $1,000. Each added layer means more routing, more stackup planning and more review.

Signal complexity

High-speed interfaces (DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, USB 3.x, Gigabit Ethernet), RF and controlled-impedance routing need signal-integrity work that simple boards do not.

Density and technology

HDI microvias, fine-pitch BGAs and rigid-flex construction take more engineering time than standard through-hole and via designs.

Scope

Layout only, or schematic capture, firmware bring-up, testing and manufacturing support as well. You pay only for the stages you need.

Turnaround

Standard timelines cost the least. Rush delivery is available on request and is priced into the quote.

Included in every layout

  • DFM review against your fab's rules (JLCPCB, PCBWay or your CM)
  • Gerber files (RS-274X) and NC drill files
  • Bill of materials (Excel/CSV) and pick-and-place files
  • Assembly drawings and schematic PDF
  • Native source files in Altium Designer or KiCad
  • A firm timeline in every quote

Typical turnaround

Not sure your board is ready for fab?

Our pre-fab design review gives you a severity-ranked fault list with datasheet citations in 3–5 business days. If we find nothing Critical or Major, the review is free.

Pricing questions

How much does PCB design cost?
PCB design starts from $1,000 for simple 2-layer boards and rises with complexity — multi-layer, HDI, RF, and rigid-flex designs cost more. Cost depends on layer count, signal complexity, turnaround time, and whether DFM review and schematic capture are included. Request a free quote for an accurate estimate within 24 hours.
How long does PCB design take?
Simple 2-4 layer boards typically take 3-5 business days for layout. Complex HDI or high-speed designs take 7-14 days. We provide a firm timeline in every quote with a 48-hour quote turnaround guaranteed.
What file formats do you deliver?
We deliver Gerber files (RS-274X), NC drill files, assembly drawings (PDF), BOM (Excel/CSV), schematic PDF, pick-and-place files, and native source files in Altium Designer or KiCad format.
